This infographic will let young parents be aware of the danger of head injuries, falls, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) of their children. A recent research has shown that head injury occurs more often in young children than adults. They are more likely to have an accident as they learn new skills such as walking, running, jumping, cycling and more.
Adults aged 75 years and older have the highest rates of TBI-related hospitalization and death. Incidents that have a higher risk of brain injury include high-speed motor vehicle accidents, falls from great heights, inflicted injury (abuse), such as vigorous shaking, typically causes severe injury. Unintentional falls are the number one cause of non-fatal injury for children, and of fall-related injuries in children are among38% kids 4 and under.
