There are so many things that make schools great, special, and unique. One of the things we hear schools promote when talking to us about what they have to offer is alternative systems for student assessment.
Here are a few options to consider if you’re looking for a change: Standards-based assessments, pass/fail, evidence of learning, narrative feedback, and rubrics.
All of these options allow teachers to provide information for feedback outside of a traditional letter grade system, which can lead to more meaningful learning and better relationship building between teachers and their students, because feedback becomes more personalized to individual students.
