Working out when the weather is nice is undoubtedly better than when it’s cold and rainy. However, exercising during hot summer days has setbacks.
The first of these being that you sweat more with the heat, leading to a higher amount of fluids lost. Drinking plenty of water throughout your workout ensures you avoid dehydration.
While the warmth of the sun feels great, it can quickly get too hot for exercising. Consider training during the early hours of the day or late afternoon to avoid the midday sun.
You should be applying sunscreen all year round, this is particularly important during the hotter months. Make sure that you’re not only using sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30, but you are frequently reapplying it.
