If you own, or carry a gun regularly, it’s important that you know your gun laws and your rights. So far 44 states have constitutional provision protecting the right to keep and bear arm. However many state laws are different by state and you also need to consider federal gun laws as well. This infographic reviews those gun laws withing the different states.
As stated in the infographic, in the majority of states upon completion of specified requirements, a law-abiding person shall be granted a permit to carry concealed firearms. However, in four states it is allowed individuals to carry concealed firearms for lawful purposes without a permit. As far as permit recognition is concerned, a handful of states does not recognize carry permits issued by any other state. On the other hand, more than 10 states recognize all valid permits issued by any state.
Turning to self-defense laws, according to the Castle Doctrine state law that protects the right to self-defense. The infographic below also provides engaging gun safety statistics. For example, over the past 20 years, guns sales are higher than ever, but during the same time crimes with firearms are down by 69%.
