According to the infographic, only 1 in 10 men and women with eating disorders receive treatment. What is more, eating disorders have the highers mortality rate of any mental illness. As stated in the infographic below, anorexia is the third most common chronic illness among adolescents.
Moreover, the mortality rate associated with anorexia nervosa is 12 times higher than all other causes of death for 15-24 years old females.
