Before a pipe ends up bursting or a building floor cave in due to water damage, there will always be signs that warn you something is wrong. By having regular maintenance services, you will be able to stop the damage early enough. Below are common areas and what to look out for.


Toilets require water to function and since they are used quite often, they are prone to damage. Check the inside of the toilet constantly for any broken and rusty parts and have them repaired or replaced often.


Some floors are normally water proofed while others are not. Those that are not waterproofed are more prone to water damage and it is always advisable to watch out for cracks and breaks in them. Any sign of breaks may indicate water pooling beneath and this can be fixed by a professional.

Inspect the pipes in your house

Exposed pipes get damaged easily due to wear and tear. It’s also easy to notice cracks or rust on them. Pipes inside walls on the other hand, are more difficult to tell if they are damaged. However, you can check walls where these pipes pass through for wetness, mold growth and even discoloration. Water heaters

Always put measures in place to slow or hinder your water heater from rusting and this will ensure that it gives you years of service. In addition, drain water from it often so that you get rid of any sediment.


Once completely closed, faucets should not leak; damaged faucets may lead to unnecessary water bills due to water leaks. Have faulty faucets replaced or repaired as soon as you notice them.

Washing machines

These have hoses that wear out and get damaged with time. Inspect hoses for damage and replace them when necessary. In addition, ensure that caulked plumbing areas have seals that are still in place. If not, have them replaced immediately to prevent water damage to other areas.
