Thanks to the Affordable Care Act a lot of improvements in access have been delivered to health coverage for the LGBT community. The following infographic describes ten ways Obamacare improved LGBT access to health coverage.
First, thanks to ACA no U.S. citizen can be denied preventive coverage because of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. Next, lifetime and annual caps on coverage are now prohibited. Moreover, insurance companies cannot deny transgender people no-cost preventive services. As a result, all legally married same-sex couples can enroll in a plan through the marketplace.
